The Patent Litigation Business is Booming

With a tip of the hat to Corporate Counsel, for making us aware of certain recent findings by legal analytics company Lex Machina; specifically, that the top 10 most-prolific filers of patent lawsuits in 2013 were all patent monetization entities / patent assertion entities / patent trolls. This is thanks in no small part to companies like ArrivalStar Inc. and Melvino Technologies Ltd., which jointly filed 137 cases, making them the No. 1 patent plaintiff in 2013. (They also asserted six of the 10 most-frequently asserted patents).
