Your bloggers are at the 28th Annual Intellectual Property Law Conference in Arlington, Virginia, and so have not been as garrulous as usual. However, we wanted to take a brief moment to recognize an unusual order in an unusual case.
If you’re a retailer, or perhaps if you’ve just ever used a map, you’ve probably heard (or been unfortunately involved with) the GeoTag case. We’ve blogged about this case before, which involves approximately 500 defendants who use “store locator” or “job locator” technology.
The latest news of note in GeoTag is that, faced with an unworkable (and wasteful) mediation process, Judge Gilstrap stayed mediations pending a hearing on the process and appointing Professor Francis McGovern special mediator. Stay tuned.
