Poison Apple
Sometimes, we have to report on IP–related news just because, well, because it is ‘cool’…
Apple, smarting from a U.K. ruling that Samsung’s Galaxy tablets did not infringe certain design patents relating to the iPad, was apparently less–than–thrilled regarding an order that Apple had to “correct the record” by way of a public advertisement that it had lost the argument and Samsung did not infringe.
Apple’s compliance noted the Court’s ruling…and then went on to quote excerpts from the Judge’s ruling in order to “explain” that the reason they lost was because Samsung’s products were “not as cool.”
Apple’s passive–aggressive attempt at an apology was ‘not cool’ with the U.K. Court of Appeal in London, which just ordered Apple to remove the statement within 24 hours and replace it with a new notice.
